Job summary

Leidos, Bethesda, MD, is seeking a senior software professional to advance sonar TDAs across Navy platforms. You will mentor 5+ developers, collaborate to design mission system software, and own components built with Java, Scala, and React while exploring Angular and Rust for evolving needs.

The role emphasizes agile practices, cross-team collaboration, and contributing to distributed Navy software environments with an emphasis on secure, scalable architectures.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Information Systems.
• Ten (10) years of professional software engineering experience.
• TS Clearance with SCI eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Mentor a de-centralized team of 5+ developers, applying agile methodologies within a larger program.
• Collaborate in an agile environment to design, develop, and deliver complex mission system software.
• Own and deliver solutions built with Java, Scala, React, and other modern technologies.
• Explore and apply new frameworks and languages such as Angular, Rust, or Scala to meet evolving mission needs.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical challenges with creativity and efficiency.
• Make informed decisions in dynamic, fast-paced environments and adapt to shifting requirements.
• Drive process improvements and introduce innovations to enhance team performance.
• Collaborate with IPTs to support coordinated software development, integration, testing, and deployment.
• Support software and system integration, testing, and installation within NSWCCD environments.
