The Team
You are joining a growing team that is responsible for motion planning, controls, and behaviors for Outrider’s autonomous trucks. This team is collaborative and committed to continuous improvement. Team members use tools such as off-the-shelf simulation software and data analytics to understand the performance of the product at scale in diverse situations, and they maintain a state-of-the-art motion planning stack by routinely studying new techniques from the research community. Leadership, growth, and development opportunities are plentiful.

The Role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our exceptional AI team at Outrider. In this role, you'll lead the development and implementation of advanced algorithms and technologies, enabling our robotic platforms to effectively and safely navigate complex environments.

Your responsibilities will include driving critical algorithmic optimizations to significantly reduce computational complexity, memory footprint, and runtime performance. You'll focus not only on writing code but strategically enhancing algorithm efficiency and scalability to ensure our navigation systems operate reliably, swiftly, and efficiently at scale.

Your technical expertise will be crucial in shaping the future of our navigation capabilities.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of advanced algorithms for robotic navigation
  • Design and optimize algorithms with a strong focus on reducing computational complexity, runtime, and memory usage
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure seamless integration and deployment of navigation solutions
  • Conduct rigorous testing, validation, and performance benchmarking of navigation algorithms
  • Drive innovation, continuously adapting to and incorporating emerging technologies into our systems

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field
  • Proven experience in algorithm design, optimization, and performance tuning
  • Solid expertise in C++ & Python
  • Strong understanding of robotics, navigation, localization, or autonomous systems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders
  • Analytical mindset, problem-solving skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $135,000 - $190,000
  • Equity: Significant equity package commensurate on experience and skills
  • Benefits: Full health benefits
  • Fully remote, with exciting opportunities to travel to our Denver headquarters for team collaborations and special events.
  • Home office stipend up to $500 to help you create a comfortable and productive workspace.
  • Actual compensation is based on several factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, qualifications, experience, and specific work location due to differences in the cost of labor
