Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories is seeking an experienced Software Engineer (R&D S&E Computer Science) to design and implement cutting-edge solutions for high-consequence national security challenges. You will work with U.S. government customers to deliver measurable results and collaborate across teams to advance mission capabilities.

This role requires 24/7 on-call support and onsite work at the Livermore, CA site, with up to 25% travel. A DOE Q/SCI clearance is required or obtainable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline and five (5) years of directly relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• DOE Q-level and SCI-level security clearance (may require a polygraph).

Responsibilities

• Lead and collaborate with design teams to create innovative solutions meeting mission requirements.
• Architect software systems and develop code, write unit tests, and create software tools.
• Develop and execute test plans, write documentation, and perform system integration and unit testing.
• Address security considerations throughout the SDLC and refine CONOPS to meet operational needs.
