We are seeking an outstanding R&D Scientist & Engineer (S&E) in Computer Science who is passionate about applying software development, DevSecOps, configuration management, and problem-solving skills to address some of the most challenging national security problems. This role is embedded within a highly integrated team that delivers reliable, software-intensive solutions supporting Sandia¿s mission-critical programs across Global Security, National Security Programs, and Advanced Science & Technology.
As a pivotal contributor, you will advance software development and operational deployment capabilities with a strong focus on configuration management, software integration, and production environment readiness. You will ensure that software and AI solutions developed by partner organizations are properly installed, configured, integrated, tested, and maintained within mission-critical environments, directly supporting Sandia¿s commitment to accelerating mission delivery and success.

The Next Generation Systems and Solutions department leverages the team's collective technical expertise in software design, engineering, and delivery of large-scale systems to serve as valued collaborators to our national security mission partners across Sandia. Our focus is on reliable, software-intensive solutions, enabling customer agility and performance, and providing broad impact across Sandia and our mission customers. We are an agile organization whose work is focused within several of Sandia's mission portfolio areas including Global Security, National Security Programs, and Advanced Science & Technology. Core proficiencies of the organization include Systems Software and Architecture, Computer Security Research and Analysis, Algorithms and Applications, and Mission Computing and Environments.

Sandia is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications.
