Job summary

Raytheon in the DFW area is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Mission Systems Engineering Team in McKinney, TX. You will design, implement, and validate real-time software for complex defense systems and collaborate across systems, firmware, and hardware disciplines.

This onsite role requires a DoD Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship, with opportunities to lead design reviews and mentor engineers. Learn to work in a fast-paced environment while contributing to national security.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or STEM with 5+ years of engineering experience.
• Experience with software architecture for complex system of systems and test.
• Real-time software development in C++ with Linux/VxWorks or similar.
• MOSa standards familiarity and interface design experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement software for real-time applications across hardware and software.
• Design high-level software architecture and system interfaces.
• Create Software Requirements Specifications (SRS).
• Collaborate with Systems Architects and cross-discipline teams on design exploration.
• Mentor less experienced engineers and participate in design reviews.
• Occasional travel up to 5%; onsite in McKinney, TX.
