Job summary

U.S. Bank in Irving, TX is seeking a Sr SW Engineer for the Tranquest Merchant-Processing Platform to advance merchant onboarding and payment processing.

You will design scalable backend services, build robust APIs, and lead reliability and security efforts while collaborating across teams. The role requires a Master’s in Applied Computer Science and 3 years of software development experience, with hands-on experience in CI/CD and modern frontend/backend technologies.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Applied Computer Science and at least 3 years in a Software Developer or related role.
• Experience building scalable backend microservices and RESTful APIs.
• Strong experience with frontend using React, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
• Experience with GraphQL, Apigee and API gateways.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Review architecture and code from vendor teams to enforce standards.
• Design and maintain Tranquest Merchant-Processing Platform for onboarding and payments.
• Lead platform reliability and observability to reduce production defects.
• Implement fraud safeguards with validation, data integrity, and risk rules.
• Auto-generate technical documentation and test scaffolding.
