Job summary

Ziehm Imaging - Orthoscan Inc. in Scottsdale, AZ is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to develop Linux-based medical device software. You will build a modern QT GUI, emphasize safety-critical development and regulatory compliance under IEC 62304 in a hands-on role.

The role requires 7+ years in software engineering, strong C++17/20 skills, QT/QML, Linux (Ubuntu/Debian), Agile, GIT and CI/CD in regulated environments. Occasional travel to Germany may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer science, or a related field or equivalent
• 7+ years of software engineering experience, preferably in regulated/safety-critical environments
• Strong proficiency in modern C++ (C++17/20) with memory management, concurrency, and optimization
• Experience with QT/QML, Linux (Ubuntu/Debian), and GUI development for medical devices
• Familiarity with design patterns, SOLID architecture, and code reviews
• Experience in Agile (Scrum) environments and CI/CD pipelines in regulated settings
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration in distributed teams

Responsibilities

• Develop, verify, and validate software for Linux-based medical devices (C-Arm) per IEC 62304
• Create and maintain Qt/QML GUI with focus on performance and usability
• Advance architecture for maintainability and scalability while aligning with safety/regulatory requirements
• Conduct code reviews and support unit/ integration testing, enforce quality standards
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, QA, regulatory, production, and sales teams for traceability
• Manage source control and participate in merge requests and release activities
