Job summary

• Proven professional experience in Python, Rust, C++, or C.
• Strong software fundamentals including OOP, FP, and REST API design.
• Experience building low-latency or real-time software.
• Experience with software testing including Robot Framework testing and integration test development.
• Comfort using AI coding assistants such as Claude or Codex.
• Experience with GitHub and CI/CD pipelines.
• Machine learning background including hyperparameter optimization, anomaly detection, and explainable ML (Bayesian ML).
• Must be authorized to work in the United States and eligible for a U.S. Secret security clearance.

Anduril Industries is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to support the Battlespace Awareness Command and Control Software team in building and improving the engineering foundation behind core tools, and to help stand up machine learning infrastructure that enhances how the team optimizes system parameters and detects performance regressions in CI. The role is based in Waltham, MA (onsite).

What you’ll do

• Provide software engineering and development support for several of the team’s core tools.
• For candidates with an ML background, help stand up new ML infrastructure to improve system parameter optimization and detect performance regressions in CI.

What you bring

• Professional experience in one or more of Python, Rust, C++, or C, with a clear track record using these languages professionally.
• Solid software engineering fundamentals, including object-oriented programming, functional programming, and REST API design.
• Experience building low-latency or real-time software.
• Experience with software testing, including Robot Framework testing and integration test development.
• Comfort using AI coding assistants such as Claude or Codex as part of day-to-day workflow.
• Experience with GitHub and CI/CD pipelines.
• Machine learning background, including:
  • Hyperparameter optimization
  • Anomaly detection
  • Explainable ML (for example, Bayesian ML)
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.

Helpful experience

• TypeScript or JavaScript, including React and/or NodeJS.
• PyTorch.
• Python FastAPI.
• CesiumJS.
• Experience with faster-than-real-time (FTRT) simulation.
• Experience building Slackbot integrations.
• Master’s, PhD, or 2–3+ years of professional experience in machine learning, especially model deployment.

Compensation: USD 190,000 - 252,000 per year.
