Job summary

HBK Hottinger Brüel & Kjaer is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Custom Engineering team to drive Linux kernel development, I/O software and hardware/software integration on customer-specific projects. The role involves complex design work, system testing, and collaboration with customers and partners.

You will work with cross-functional teams, troubleshoot system-level issues, and mentor junior staff while delivering robust, scalable software for manufacturing and industrial

Qualifications

• Strong programming skills in C/C++ for embedded and systems software.
• Experience with Linux kernel development and device drivers.
• Knowledge of analog/digital I/O, and hardware/software interfaces.
• Experience diagnosing complex system-level integration issues.
• Ability to work independently on challenging projects with good judgment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, integrate, and support Linux kernel, drivers, and I/O software.
• Design interfaces for custom analog and digital I/O devices.
• Troubleshoot system-level hardware/software integration issues.
• Support manufacturing with installation, configuration, testing, and validation.
• Translate customer requirements into engineering solutions.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
