HBK - Hottinger Brüel & Kjær is seeking an IT Senior Architect for Linux & Open Source to design, govern, and evolve our Linux server landscape and enterprise open-source stack. You will own end-to-end architecture across on-prem to cloud, setting standards for security, patching, and scalability while shaping licensing, support and community engagement for enterprise-scale OSS.

The role emphasizes architecture and governance rather than hands-on ops, with collaboration across outsourcing

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree or equivalent practical experience in computing/IT.
• 7+ years of Linux administration or architecture experience, with leadership exposure.
• Deep expertise in at least one enterprise Linux distribution (RHEL/SUSE) and working knowledge of others.
• Knowledge of open-source ecosystems and licensing models in enterprise contexts.
• Experience with IaC and configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Terraform).
• Understanding of Azure/hybrid-cloud Linux workloads and virtualization/containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Security hardening, patch management and compliance exposure (CIS, ISO 27001).
• Strong scripting (Bash, Python) and automation skills.
• Experience with monitoring/observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Fluent business English.

Responsabilités

• Design and govern Linux server and open-source infrastructure architecture across on-prem, hybrid, and cloud environments.
• Define standards for builds, patching, hardening and lifecycle management across the estate.
• Lead infrastructure automation for repeatable deployments and CI/CD for infrastructure.
• Oversee virtualization and containerization platforms (KVM, oVirt, Kubernetes/OpenShift).
• Ensure high availability, DR, backup and business continuity planning.
• Collaborate with Cyber Sec on identity management and security architectures.
• Manage OSS license compliance and governance with outsourcing partners.
• Provide ADRs, roadmaps and architecture documentation for stakeholders.
• Mentor admins and engineers on Linux/open-source best practices.
