Job summary

Jobgether seeks a Senior Software Engineer for LIMS Modernization in the United States. You will modernize a mission-critical LIMS by applying Spec‑Driven Development, Test‑Driven Development, and clean architecture to transform legacy knowledge into clear specifications, architecture, tests, and production software.

You will collaborate with senior engineers, cloud/platform teams, and laboratory leadership, using AI-assisted development and Mermaid diagrams to document data flows and system

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience delivering production software.
• Strong cloud-native engineering fundamentals; Azure preferred, AWS or GCP also considered.
• Experience with Spec-Driven Development, Test-Driven Development, clean architecture, and domain-driven design.
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools like Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar.

Responsibilities

• Drive Spec‑Driven Development by clarifying designs in Markdown specifications and documenting architecture as code with Markdown and Mermaid.js.
• Build with Test‑Driven Development with comprehensive automated tests and architectural guardrails.
• Apply AI‑assisted engineering to codebase archaeology, documentation, and prototyping while applying sound judgment.
• Reverse‑engineer legacy systems to produce module‑level documentation including inputs/outputs and data models.
• Document critical data flows with versioned Mermaid diagrams covering lifecycles, integrations, and authentication.
