Job summary

Labcorp seeks a Lead Software Development Engineer in Durham, NC to design, develop, and support mission-critical LIMS systems. This role blends deep technical proficiency with leadership to deliver high-performance software using modern technologies and cloud platforms.

The position is full-time, hybrid with in-office days in Durham, and requires extensive .NET, API, and distributed systems experience, plus cloud-native practices and CI/CD tooling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years with .NET technologies including .NET Core, ASP.NET, MVC, or ORM tools.
• 7+ years in database design with SQL Server or similar RDBMS.
• 7+ years API development, microservices, Docker, Kubernetes, cloud-native apps.
• 7+ years distributed application design using Kafka/MQ/RabbitMQ.

Responsibilities

• Design and document technical specifications using flowcharts, ER diagrams, and pseudocode.
• Develop, test, and integrate high-quality software using modern engineering standards.
• Review and refactor code to improve performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Analyze and enhance applications to meet evolving business needs.
• Support migration from legacy systems to modern platforms.
• Serve as SME for internally developed Virtual LIMS and assist with production issues.
