Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree (or foreign equivalent) in computer science, computer information systems, information technology, electronic engineering, or related field.
• Six years of related experience with computer systems and applications.
• Additional education may substitute for required experience to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Responsibilities

• Define highly complex business/clinical/education problems by meeting with clients to observe and understand current processes.
• Gather highly complex system requirements by meeting with clients and researching existing technology to understand the business requirements and possible solutions for new applications.
• Develop detailed tasks and project plans by analyzing scope and milestones for highly complex projects to ensure timely delivery.
• Write functional/technical specifications from highly complex system requirements for use by programmers and analysts.
• Develop/change data input, files/database structures, data transformation, algorithms, and data output to provide technical solutions for highly complex development tasks.
• Document code and processes by adhering to development methodologies and adding documentation to systems.
• Provide monitoring and guidance in application design and development to junior staff.
• Provide leadership for strategic planning in designing and developing comprehensive innovative integrated solutions.
• Create and document highly complex test scenarios to validate application functionality.
• Test changes with highly complex test scenarios to ensure solutions work as expected.
• Author and maintain technical and end-user documentation.
• Mentor junior staff in testing tools and technologies.
