The Johns Hopkins University seeks a Sightline Sr. Software Engineer to lead the design, development, and deployment of enterprise-wide application systems.

You will translate business requirements into technical specifications, guide junior staff, and ensure robust performance, documentation, and production support. You'll manage complex projects across platforms, coordinate with clients and IT teams, implement data pipelines, DevOps practices, and cloud-based analytics, with a focus on Python,

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
• Six years of related experience with computer systems and applications.
• Additional education may substitute for required experience per the JHU equivalency formula.

• Analyze and gather requirements by meeting with clients to observe processes and document findings.
• Design and develop tasks and project plans for complex projects to ensure timely delivery.
• Write functional/technical specifications from requirements for developers and analysts.
• Develop/change data inputs, files/databases, transformations, algorithms, and outputs to support complex development tasks.
• Document code and processes, add comments, and maintain knowledge base materials.
• Mentor junior staff in testing tools and technologies and provide guidance in design and development.
• Lead strategic planning for integrated solutions and oversee implementation and maintenance.
