Job summary

Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) seeks a Senior Systems Security Engineer to serve as a technical lead across the system development lifecycle, delivering complex solutions and leading dedicated teams.

You will work with government stakeholders to ensure systems meet operational needs, manage technical risk, and drive cyber-resilient designs while advancing sponsor missions. A clear path to Top Secret clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/CE/EE/Systems Engineering/Math/Cybersecurity or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in design, development, and deployment of complex systems or analytics.
• Strong lifecycle systems engineering background.
• Extensive knowledge leading complex technical programs for cyber-resilient design.
• Experience with system design and prototyping from concept through test and evaluation.
• Demonstrated team leadership or project management skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% to sponsor and test sites.
• U.S. citizenship with eligibility for secret clearance and ability to obtain TS clearance.
