Job summary

Openkrill is seeking a Senior/Staff Software Engineer to join our remote team (LATAM) and help build category-defining products that automate waste-hauler operations. You’ll work across the stack, design scalable solutions, and apply AI deeply in your workflow to deliver real customer impact.

You will own projects end-to-end, collaborate with a US-based CTO, and work in an environment where AI-generated code and AI-assisted design are the norm, enabling rapid, high-quality delivery.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building full-stack web applications.
• Proficient in TypeScript, React and Node.js.
• Strong SQL and data modeling skills.
• AI integrated into engineering workflow.
• Expect 60-80% of code you write to be AI-generated and 40-50% of design/architecture AI-assisted.

About the role

You’ll be responsible for building and launching category-defining products that automate and simplify the operations of waste haulers everywhere.

You’ll work across the stack, turn ambiguous product feedback into production solutions, and use AI deeply throughout your workflow.

What you’ll do

• Turn ambiguous product feedback into production-ready solutions.

• Own projects from problem definition through launch and iteration.

What we’re looking for

• 5+ years of experience as a software engineer building full-stack web applications.


• Strong expertise in TypeScript, React, and Node.js.


• Strong SQL and database design skills, with excellent data modeling skills.


• You’re all-in on AI and have deeply integrated it into your engineering workflow.


• We expect 60-80% of the code you write to be generated by AI and 40-50% of your design and architecture work to be AI-assisted. This means our bar for engineering output is 3-4x higher than pre-AI.


• You thrive in ambiguous, challenging problem spaces and can operate autonomously.


• You derive satisfaction from shipping and creating real customer impact.


• Full professional proficiency in English. You’ll report directly to our US-based CTO.
