Job summary

Wise is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to own large-scale backend initiatives within our KYC/Onboarding domain. You will shape the technical roadmap, build scalable microservices, and ensure compliance with evolving regulations while delivering fast, reliable experiences for customers.

You will collaborate with frontend, data analytics, product, and operations teams to remove friction in cross-border payments and onboarding.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience with distributed systems and backend development.
• Strong product mindset with focus on customer experience and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across product, design, and engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical roadmap for your areas of ownership, addressing debt, reliability, and security.
• Design and implement robust backend systems with clean APIs.
• Drive integration with risk and mitigation systems to ensure compliance.
• Mentor engineers and lead cross-team initiatives to deliver high-impact projects.
