Job summary

Kobie, based in Saint Petersburg, FL, seeks an experienced Java/Spring developer to enhance and scale our loyalty platform and related services. You will work across the stack, optimize performance, and collaborate with product owners to meet acceptance criteria.

This role emphasizes building robust microservices, tuning SQL, and advancing SDLC maturity while mentoring teammates and delivering high-quality code.

Qualifications

• 5+ years designing and developing Java/Spring applications
• 3+ years building RESTful services using JSON
• Experience developing microservice cloud apps on Oracle, AWS, or Azure
• 3+ years writing multi-table SQL (Oracle/PostgreSQL)
• Ability to tune SQL with explain plans
• Familiarity with Agile (Scrum) processes
• Bachelor’s degree in CS or related field preferred
• Experience with Loyalty, Accounting, or Banking apps preferred
• Experience with message queues such as RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, or Kafka Streams
• Experience building Docker containers and Kubernetes clusters
• Build tools such as Bitbucket/Git, Gradle, Bamboo preferred

Responsibilities

• Make rapid improvements to the Java/Angular codebase to resolve production problems
• Identify and fix performance bottlenecks
• Help establish a more mature SDLC
• Gain knowledge and control of loyalty platform integration points (live APIs, batch, queue processing)
• Participate in design sessions with product owners and team members
• Maintain configuration and business-logic documentation
• Mentor and assist other team members
• Promote good coding practices and patterns
• Set accurate time estimates and scope for tasks and projects
• Fill information gaps to complete work
• Develop simple solutions to complex problems
• Suggest innovative process or component improvements
• Collaborate effectively with other groups and third parties
