Placements24 is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design and build scalable backend systems using Java and Spring Boot. You will own RESTful services, mentor junior engineers, and drive best practices across the team in a hybrid Randburg environment with remote flexibility.

You'll contribute to architecture, ensure code quality, perform testing, and collaborate with product, frontend, and QA to deliver robust solutions while staying current with evolving technologies and patterns.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 5–7 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong Java expertise with Spring Boot framework.

Requirements

• Proven experience in designing and developing RESTful web services.
• Solid understanding of relational database technologies (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and ORMs (e.g., Hibernate).
• Proficiency with build tools (e.g., Maven, Gradle) and version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Experience with microservices architecture is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP is a plus.
• Strong understanding of software design patterns and principles.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment.
