Job summary

Citibank (Switzerland) AG in New York, NY, seeks a Senior Software Engineer (Java/Python) to design and deliver scalable applications for mortgage tech, using Java, Python, Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift and AI tools.

You will collaborate with business units to integrate platforms, drive enhancements, ensure production readiness, and mentor junior analysts while applying CI/CD practices in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related STEM field.
• Strong knowledge of Java and Python.
• Experience with container orchestration platforms (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift).
• Experience in systems analysis and software programming.
• Experience managing projects and applying PM techniques.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver scalable, Java and Python-based applications for mortgage trading, analytics, workflows and reporting.
• Partner with business, risk, product and tech groups to integrate platforms and enable new products.
• Monitor and control all phases of development and provide user/operational support; apply AI to modernize workflows.
• Resolve high-impact initiatives through analysis of processes and industry standards.
• Apply engineering standards for coding, testing, CI/CD, debugging, and production readiness.
• Coach and mentor junior analysts; operate with limited supervision; act as SME to stakeholders.
