Job summary

Citigroup Inc. in Jersey City is seeking a Lead Python Developer to guide a team of developers in building and maintaining scalable applications.

You will drive technical strategy, oversee code quality, and collaborate with the Technology team to implement new systems and enhance existing platforms. The role demands strong Python expertise, Java/React experience, and hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes, with leadership responsibilities including performance reviews and hiring

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Python and deep experience with relevant libraries and frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, LangChain, Hugging Face).
• Senior Full-Stack Engineer (Java/React).
• Strong proficiency in Java and experience building RESTful APIs with the Spring Boot framework.
• Contribute to our evolving Micro-Frontend (MFE) architecture to build and maintain independent, reusable UI components.
• Hands-on experience with Docker for containerizing applications.
• Solid understanding and practical experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration and cluster management.
• Document Digitization technologies (OCR – Tesseract, Abby, Kofax, Google Vision) with AI/ML (optional).

Responsibilities

• Manage one or more Applications Development teams, including performance evaluations, hiring and disciplinary actions.
• Provide technical oversight across systems and applications.
• Review and analyze proposed technical solutions for projects.
• Contribute to formulation of strategies for applications development and other functional areas.
• Develop knowledge of how business areas integrate to accomplish goals.
• Provide evaluative judgment based on data in complex situations.
• Monitor delivery of end results, participate in budget management, and handle day-to-day staff management.
• Ensure procedures are followed and contribute to defining standards, negotiating with external parties when necessary.
• Assess risk and ensure compliance with laws, rules and regulations, escalating control issues with transparency.
