Thomas Jefferson University is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and deliver scalable, secure software solutions. The role provides technical leadership within engineering teams, enforces best practices, and collaborates with stakeholders to translate requirements into effective solutions.

The candidate will stay current with technology trends, drive continuous improvement, and support infrastructure and cloud initiatives across AWS, Azure, and GCP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years in software development with distributed systems and cloud platforms.
• Proficiency in Java, C#, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript with REST/gRPC and solid system design.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, and GCP; IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation) and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Databases experience with SQL and NoSQL; strong data management practices.
• Knowledge of security principles, authentication, authorization, and compliance best practices.
• Hands-on with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, monitoring and logging (ELK, Prometheus, Splunk).
• Strong collaboration, communication, analytics, problem-solving, and mentoring abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design secure, scalable systems and review code while maintaining documentation.
• Resolve complex issues, optimize performance, and perform root cause analysis.
• Build cloud solutions and support CI/CD, automation, and containerization.
• Apply security best practices and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Partner with stakeholders and manage vendor integrations and technical evaluations.
• Mentor engineers and foster collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
