Job summary

Thomas Jefferson University seeks a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and deliver scalable, secure software. You will provide technical leadership, guide architecture decisions, and mentor teams while aligning with security and compliance needs.

You will work with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), containers (Docker/Kubernetes), and modern DevOps practices to drive reliable software delivery and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of work experience, with 5+ years in software development.
• Experience with distributed systems and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Proficiency in Java, C#, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript and REST/gRPC.
• Strong knowledge of architectural patterns and system design.
• Hands-on with DevOps tools, CI/CD, testing, monitoring, and logging.

Responsibilities

• Design secure, scalable systems; review code; maintain documentation.
• Resolve complex issues; optimize performance and reliability; root cause analysis.
• Build cloud solutions; support CI/CD, automation, containerization; infra monitoring.
• Apply security best practices; ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
• Partner with stakeholders to deliver solutions; manage vendor integrations & evaluations.
• Mentor engineers; share expertise; foster collaboration and continuous learning.
