Job summary
Valinor Enterprises seeks a Senior Software Engineer to lead Terra’s software platform, connecting environmental sensors in military facilities to facilities teams. The role is onsite in Austin, focusing on building a scalable, secure, multi-tenant system that can turn sensor readings into actionable alerts and work orders.
You’ll own the product technically, collaborate across hardware and software, and guide engineering practices while ensuring regulatory compliance and DoD-friendly
Qualifications
- 5+ years of software engineering experience on a small team
- Experience designing multi-tenant systems and tradeoffs
- Backend-focused with strong frontend understanding; TypeScript and Postgres ideal
- Own deployment without dedicated DevOps; know Containers, Kubernetes, CI/CD, Terraform
- Ability to explain technical tradeoffs clearly to non-technical leaders and government customers
- Track record building for real users including hardware-integrated software
Responsibilities
- Own Terra’s software product technically from the TS stack and architecture decisions
- Collaborate with hardware/firmware to connect sensors and enable scalable setup
- Ship the roadmap with protocols, alerts, reporting, and actuating building systems
- Maintain production readiness for DoD and AWS GovCloud environments
- Establish engineering practices for testing, code reviews, releases, and participate in hiring strategy
