SmartRent in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join multiple product teams (IoT, Frontend, Backend, Mobile, AI) and contribute to a unified platform. Hybrid schedule reporting to Headquarters preferred.

The role emphasizes designing features, mentoring engineers, and delivering secure, scalable solutions using Elixir, React, React Native, and REST/GraphQL APIs. Strong collaboration and code quality are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 4-6 years of software development experience with JavaScript, React or React Native, and RESTful APIs.
• Experience with Elixir/Node.js and building scalable backend services.
• Strong understanding of API design, Git, and modern build pipelines (Webpack, Babel).
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead design of key components across product teams.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, QA to deliver secure, scalable solutions.
• Write clean, maintainable code in Elixir and React/React Native.
• Mentor junior engineers and enforce coding standards.
• Optimize performance and refactor legacy systems while ensuring compatibility.
