Job summary

SmartRent is hiring for a mobile engineering lead to own the native platform layer, build and release pipelines, and performance budgets. You will drive React Native upgrades and maintain iOS/Android build processes, collaborating with backend teams and product squads to deliver high-quality releases.

The role favors candidates in Phoenix with a hybrid schedule at headquarters and a strong background in mobile hardware integration.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• 5+ years shipping mobile apps on iOS and Android.
• 3+ years production React Native experience.
• Deep expertise in Swift or Kotlin with fluency in the other.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain shared native modules powering device control.
• Plan and upgrade React Native and native platform dependencies.
• Own iOS/Android build, signing and store submission processes.
• Set targets for crash-free sessions, cold start times, and binary size.
• Collaborate with backend teams on payloads and APIs early.
