present of AI is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer for a fully remote role in the United States. You will build and maintain backend connectors that link our AI security analysts to customer security tools such as SIEM, EDR, SOAR, cloud, identity, and threat intel systems.
A strong candidate will bring solid Python and API design skills, hands-on experience with third-party APIs, and the ability to handle real-world challenges like rate limits, retries, and schema changes.
This role builds and maintains the backend connectors that link the company's AI security analysts to customer security tools such as SIEM, EDR, SOAR, cloud, identity and threat intelligence systems. A strong candidate brings solid Python and API design skills, hands on work with third party APIs, and the ability to handle messy real world behavior like rate limits, retries and schema changes. The person also needs to own services in production, write tests, watch metrics and work closely with product and security experts.
The product is built on generative AI that investigates security alerts, so this engineer makes the data and tool connections that let those AI analysts do useful work. Much of the integration plumbing, such as mapping fields and handling retries, can be sped up with AI coding tools, but judgment about reliability, security and customer impact stays with the engineer. The human part is deciding what to connect, how to keep credentials and tenant data safe, and how to make failures visible and recoverable.
Working here gives direct exposure to a generative AI product in security operations, including how AI agents consume telemetry and enrichment from many tools. A candidate can build relevant experience by learning how SIEM, EDR and threat intelligence APIs behave, practicing secure credential handling and tenant isolation, and studying how AI agents use tool calls and context. Familiarity with evaluating AI driven workflows for reliability would help, though the posting centers on backend engineering.
