Senior Software Engineer, Infrastructure

Remote - SF Bay Area, Hybrid - NYC

About the Role

As part of our Infrastructure team, you will focus on empowering developers with the right tools and ensuring the reliability and scalability of our production systems. Your work will enhance our internal developer experience and strengthen the infrastructure supporting our growing platform.

You will build and maintain reliable, secure, and scalable infrastructure for over 80,000 Service Professionals, driving operational excellence, scaling our cloud-native deployments, and collaborating with product engineering teams to enable growth.

This role can be based remotely in the San Francisco Bay Area or hybrid in NYC (Tuesdays & Thursdays in-office).

What You’ll Do

• Partner with Product and Engineering teams to support a reliable, secure, and scalable infrastructure platform.
• Ensure efficient scaling of GlossGenius's AWS cloud footprint.
• Develop tools for engineers to identify issues across the stack quickly.
• Shape incident management practices and promote operational excellence.
• Enhance monitoring and alerting capabilities; serve as a subject matter expert in observability.
• Champion DevOps principles, fostering collaboration and automation.
• Assess and integrate new technologies based on industry and company trends.
• Collaborate to optimize application performance and promote resilient, scalable architectures.
• Own complex problems from inception to resolution, engaging stakeholders and balancing business needs with platform reliability, security, and scalability.

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of experience with cloud technologies in roles such as SWE, Systems Engineer, SRE, etc.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) in production environments.
• Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform, AWS CDK, or Terraform CDK.
• Understanding of IP networking, DNS, CDN, load balancing, HTTP, and firewalls.
• Experience building monitoring, logging, and alerting systems for large-scale platforms.
• Participation in team on-call responsibilities.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes (e.g., AWS EKS, GCP GKE).
• Proficiency in high-level programming languages such as Go, Python, Typescript, Java, or Ruby.
• Ability to drive projects from concept to completion, focusing on outcomes.
