Visionist, Inc. seeks a Senior Software Engineer - Inference for our largest PRIME contract in Laurel, MD. The role centers on deploying inference models to support mission-critical users and translating goals into engineering outcomes.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate across teams to build scalable infra, and drive high-quality inference services while joining a 100% employee-owned culture with strong benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline; 12+ years in software development.
• Strong Python experience and modern programming languages.
• Experience with CI/CD tools and cloud platforms (AWS or equivalent).
• Ability to mentor engineers and lead engineering initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead the evaluation, configuration, and deployment of inference models for our users
• Translate high-level stakeholder goals into engineering outcomes
• Mentor engineers and grow development best practices and standards for the team
• Develop in-house services and techniques to guarantee continual high-quality inference service for our customer
• Collaborate with teams to establish solid infrastructure and integrate LLM-powered tools
• Support surge efforts for short-term, high-priority inference needs
