Job summary

Actalent in Poway, CA is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with deep C++ and C# experience to support semiconductor manufacturing equipment and automated test systems. You will provide technical leadership and drive software initiatives across multiple projects.

The ideal candidate has 7–10+ years in software engineering, strong Windows desktop development skills, experience with CANopen or EtherCAT, and proven ability to integrate software with hardware such as motors, sensors and vision

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 7-10+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in C++ development.
• Experience with object-oriented programming principles and design methodologies.
• Experience developing Windows desktop applications and large-scale PC-based software.
• Hands-on experience integrating software with hardware systems.
• Proficiency with source control and project management tools (Git, Jira, MS Project).
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve software issues on complex machinery.
• Understanding of SDLC, system integration, testing and deployment.

Responsibilities

• Develop applications using C++ and C# for semiconductor manufacturing equipment or automated test systems.
• Provide technical leadership by mentoring engineers, leading projects, and serving as a team lead.
• Work with industrial communication protocols such as CANopen or EtherCAT.
• Integrate software with motors, sensors, vision systems, robotics and other electromechanical components.
• Support products through lifecycle: new development, integration, deployment and sustaining engineering.
• Validate and test software directly on physical machinery or automated equipment.
