Job summary

AIT is seeking a senior software engineer to support custom automation software for large-scale aerospace assembly systems. You will participate in design, procurement, fabrication, integration and production support, focusing on control system configuration and development using C/C++/C# on Windows.

You will work on Siemens Scripting/PLC programming (TIA-Step 7), WinCC tools, and PLC networking (TCP/IP, PROFINET).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related engineering field with 5+ years of experience, or MS with 3+ years.
• Proficiency in C/C++/C# for Windows applications.
• Experience programming Siemens Scripting and PLCs (TIA-STEP 7) or Allen-Bradley scripting.
• Strong knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, PROFINET, Ethernet/IP).
• Experience with industrial automation hardware and electrical diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Develop software across the full SDLC for automated aerospace systems.
• Configure network and control system components; implement PLC and GUI software.
• Collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineers and project teams.
• Troubleshoot with customers and document issues and corrective actions.
• Develop and execute functional test plans and lead task breakdowns.
