Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Software Development Engineer III for Resilience Infrastructure and Solutions: Incident Mitigation.

You will own the design and development of large-scale distributed systems protecting AWS workloads during active events, working across ELB, S3, EKS, DynamoDB, and EC2 with a focus on correctness, speed, and fault tolerance. Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience.
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end design, implementation, and delivery of software systems spanning multiple features across the full development lifecycle, ensuring solutions are well-architected, extensible, and maintainable.
• Own your team’s architectural direction by evaluating trade-offs across scalability, performance, security, and maintainability, and guide future technology choices that align with business goals.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, technical program managers, and partner engineering teams to define requirements, align on system design, and deliver integrated solutions.
• Coach and mentor engineers on your team and across related teams, driving adoption of engineering best practices and raising the quality bar for code organization, clarity, and documentation.
• Identify opportunities to simplify existing systems and reduce technical debt, leveraging generative AI tools and industry innovations where appropriate to improve team productivity and solution quality.
