Job summary

Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. in Seattle is seeking a Systems Engineer for AWS Incident Response to lead high‑severity incident calls, triage complex failures across distributed systems, and coordinate resolver teams to drive mitigation in real time.

You will own dashboards, runbooks, and health reviews, obsess over metrics and detection analysis, and build automation to surface problems before customers notice.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of systems engineering or technical support experience.
• Strong communication with technical and non-technical audiences, including leadership.
• Scripting in Bash, Python, Perl, Ruby, or modern languages.
• Understanding of Linux, networking, and distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead high-severity incident response calls end-to-end.
• Own and run operational health reviews with dashboards and metrics.
• Improve detection accuracy and speed across incidents.
• Deep-dive operational data to identify systemic issues.
• Identify gaps in processes and tooling to reduce time-to-detection.
• Apply scripting and automation to accelerate incident response.
