Job summary

Tempus is seeking a Senior Software Engineer II, Security in Chicago to lead complex security engineering initiatives, ensuring identity management, authorization, and observability across a microservice architecture.

You will collaborate with product teams, improve security micro-services, and configure tools like Auth0, Okta, Chronicle, Terraform and GCP, mentoring colleagues while delivering reliable, scalable security solutions.

Qualifications

Experience leading security engineering initiatives across a microservice architecture.
Hands-on with cloud infrastructure and security tooling (Auth0, Okta, Chronicle).
Familiarity with identity standards (OAuth, SAML) and RBAC/ABAC concepts.
Strong collaboration with cross-functional teams and product stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Lead complex security engineering implementations for identity management, authorization, and observability.
Improve security micro-services and tooling, addressing gaps and emerging standards.
Collaborate across teams to enforce internal security standards across services.
Partner with product teams to balance priorities and deliver secure solutions.
Drive improvements in tooling, design, and processes, mentoring others.
