Job summary

Axon seeks a Software Engineering Manager in Seattle to lead design and development of scalable, high-availability data pipelines and real-time 911 data ingestion. You’ll keep hands in the code while mentoring engineers and partnering with product managers, senior engineers and client teams.

Based in our Seattle office with a hybrid schedule, you will guide architecture, drive planning and provide feedback in 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development for 8-10 software engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a highly technical field
• 4+ years of software engineering experience
• 3+ years of experience managing software developers
• Experience planning and delivering multiple overlapping projects
• Experience with secure, available, scalable engineering processes
• Experience with integrations with third-party APIs
• Good understanding of ETL process

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of scalable, high-availability data pipelines
• Drive team execution with planning, prioritization, stand-ups, and retrospectives
• Lead architectural discussions and code reviews
• Collaborate with product managers, senior engineers, and client teams
• Partner with recruiting to hire an engineering team
• Conduct 1:1s and performance reviews for engineers
• Deliver new features and improvements to customers regularly
• Coach the team for continuous improvement
