Axon is seeking a Senior Software Engineer II (TASER Data Science) in Washington, US. This role blends data science with production engineering to deliver data-driven training tools for law enforcement, with a hybrid office schedule in the US.

You will own production ML deployment, build end‑to‑end data pipelines, and set engineering direction for a deep, mission‑driven team focused on safer outcomes.

Qualifications

• Production-grade Python code written to be maintained by others.
• Experience deploying and operating ML systems in production.
• Ability to define and drive technical roadmaps.
• Problem framing and adapting to evolving requirements.
• Experience with real-world messy data such as device logs.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship data products: dashboards, metrics systems, and recommendation tools.
• Own production ML deployment — bring models from research to reliable production systems with monitoring, versioning, and operational rigor.
• Build and own data pipelines from TASER device telemetry through to analytics surfaces used by agencies and internal stakeholders.
• Set technical direction for the team's engineering practices — the senior voice for engineers.
• Work across the full stack — device‑side data ingestion through user‑facing analytics.
• Use AI tools as a core part of your development workflow.
