Job summary

IBM Software is seeking an experienced infrastructure engineer to design and operate scalable cloud infrastructure for Confluent-based platforms. You will build Go/JVM-based services, manage Kubernetes operators, and ensure security, scalability, and reliability across regions.

This role emphasizes collaboration, ownership, and hands-on leadership with exposure to AWS, GCP, and Azure, and a focus on GitOps, CI/CD, and observability.

Qualifications

• Experience designing, building, and operating cloud infrastructure and services.
• Strong programming skills in Go, Java, or Python.
• Hands-on Kubernetes in production and cloud-native ecosystems.
• Automation and reliability practices (GitOps, Terraform, CI/CD, observability).
• Ability to work independently in a distributed team.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and evolve internal infrastructure services written in Go, often as Kubernetes operators, that power the core platform.
• Own the systems that make cloud infrastructure secure, scalable, observable, and reliable.
• Collaborate with engineers to enable fast, safe, autonomous deployment of services.
• Take shared responsibility for the full lifecycle of infrastructure: availability, performance, monitoring, and capacity planning.
• Work on systems at scale across regions, focusing on smooth, fast operations.
• Influence architecture and operational strategy behind critical infrastructure.
