Job summary

Smartsheet is seeking creative, enthusiastic engineers to build software used by millions. We leverage AWS and a stack including Java, TypeScript, React/Redux, MySQL, and Node.js. The role sits on the core views experiences team, reimagining sheet views to be fast, scalable, and delightful to use.

You will report to an Engineering Manager in Bellevue, WA or work remotely from anywhere in the US where Smartsheet is a registered employer.

Qualifications

5+ years of engineering experience in a team environment.
3+ years of experience in service-oriented architecture, deployment systems, and cloud infrastructure.
Proficient in at least one high-level programming language (Ruby, Java, Go, Python, TypeScript).
Experience with modern client JS libraries like React/Redux.
Experience in application migration patterns and REST design principles.

Responsibilities

Design and build full-stack features—front-end, back-end, data modeling, infrastructure, and test automation.
Own large, ambiguous projects end-to-end—from idea to GA—including cross-team efforts.
Lead hard front-end challenges: high-performance views rendering hundreds of thousands of rows.
Design complex back-end and distributed systems—APIs and data pipelines for real-time collaboration.
