Smartsheet is hiring a senior engineer to design and build full-stack features across front-end and back-end, data modeling, and infrastructure. You will own large projects end-to-end, including cross-team planning, design, and operational excellence.

You will tackle high-performance front-end challenges, real-time collaboration on distributed systems, and architectural decisions that scale. Collaboration with product, design, and data teams is essential, with a focus on measurable business

Qualifications

• 5+ years engineering experience in a team environment.
• 3+ years experience in service-oriented architecture, deployment systems, and cloud infrastructure.
• Proficient in at least one high-level programming language (e.g., Ruby, Java, Go, Python, TypeScript).
• Experience with modern client JS libraries, like React and Redux.
• Experience in application migration patterns and tradeoff scenarios.
• Knowledge of OOP and REST design principles.
• Clear and objective writing and in-person communication.
• Curiosity to learn new technologies and systems.
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• Legally eligible to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis.

Responsibilities

• Design and build full-stack features - front-end, back-end, data modeling, infrastructure, and test automation.
• Own large, ambiguous projects end-to-end - from idea to GA including cross-team collaboration.
• Lead hard front-end challenges: high-performance views rendering hundreds of thousands of rows.
• Design complex back-end and distributed systems with real-time collaboration and high concurrency.
• Proactively fix team-wide operational and DX problems with tooling and infrastructure.
• Use AI coding tools across the SDLC to speed development, testing, and reviews.
• Lead design and code reviews to raise engineering standards and mentor others.
• Partner with product and design from concept through launch.
• Own work end-to-end with measurable business impact and observable code.
