Job summary

Thomson Reuters is seeking a Senior Software Engineer I to help build the document-processing platform powering AI products across the company. The service handles millions of documents per month using AI/ML and LLMs, and supports flagship applications like CoCounsel for internal teams and customer-facing products.

You will design and ship client-facing REST APIs, build scalable cloud services, mentor junior engineers, and influence technical direction, architecture, and dev-ops practices across

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in CS/SE or related field.
• 4+ years of software development with cloud-native hosting and Azure (AWS/GCP ok).
• API-first REST API design using OpenAPI/Swagger; strong DX and ergonomics.
• Proficient in C#/.NET and SQL; working knowledge of Angular.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD (GitHub Actions).
• Understanding of SDLC, Agile, testing, monitoring, and incident mgmt.
• Ability to lead technically, mentor juniors, review code, and influence decisions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; stakeholder relationship-building.

Responsibilities

• Design and ship client-facing REST APIs with API-first contracts.
• Build scalable cloud services processing millions of documents monthly.
• Collaborate with engineers, PMs, scientists, and legal experts.
