Job summary

King County's KCIT (Software Engineering) is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to support the BHRD Technical Team serving the Department of Community and Human Services, Behavioral Health and Recovery Division projects. You will help manage 28 applications for ~200 internal and ~400 external users, contributing to data integration and software architecture decisions.

Qualifications

• Experience with Microsoft .NET development tools (C#, ASP.NET, MVC).
• SQL Server (T-SQL) programming experience.
• Python programming experience.
• Informix/Genero 4GL programming experience.
• Unix/Linux scripting (ksh, perl, awk, sed, grep).
• Report development experience using Crystal Reports and SSRS.
• Oracle PL/SQL programming experience.
• PowerBuilder application development experience.
• Relational database design and development experience.
• Experience employing SSIS for ETL work.
• Experience with behavioral health business and systems.
• Experience with agile development methodologies.
• Experience with medical electronic health record (EHR) systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop critical and complex systems using various languages, tools, and vendor platforms.
• Propose technical standards and procedures.
• Peer review code and design specifications.
• Apply diverse languages to join systems; maintain quality and integrity.
• Manage risk and security; propose improvements to risk management processes.
• Coach less experienced team members.
• Partner with engineering, product, and business stakeholders to design solutions.
• Identify and implement internal process improvements.
