Job summary

Aera Technology, a leader in decision intelligence, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to work on CALC engine within a high-performance Java-based OLAP system. You will be near the core of the engine, focusing on correctness and speed while collaborating with product teams in a Mountain View/SF office setting 3–4 days a week.

The role demands strong backend Java skills, experience with low-latency systems, and exposure to database engines or compiler design.

Qualifications

• Strong Core Java skills with threading, GC, and latency tuning.
• Deep domain knowledge in database engines, compilers and front-office systems.
• Experience designing languages and understanding JVM internals.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product team to translate design decisions into executable criteria.
• Design and implement high-performance, low-latency calculation engine code.
• Communicate complex concepts clearly to team members and stakeholders.
