Job summary

Aera Technology is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Mountain View engineering team and help design and build the next generation of our Decision Cloud platform.

You will lead backend development, collaborate with architects and product managers, and deliver high-performance, scalable APIs and services. The role emphasizes innovation, quality code, and mentoring peers in a fast-growing environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in Java backend development.
• Experience with Spring Boot, ORM frameworks, microservices and REST APIs.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes is a strong plus.
• Proficient with SQL, data modeling and high-volume data handling.
• Hands-on testing with JUnit/TestNG/Mockito.
• Familiar with AWS, Kafka, Spark, ElasticSearch, Redis, and ELK.
• Experience building secure, scalable APIs from design to deployment.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code and automation.
• Use AI-enabled engineering practices to enhance code quality and accelerate development/testing/documentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to influence product direction and define functional requirements.
• Deliver highly scalable, robust APIs and software products.
• Mentor junior team members and participate in design and code reviews.
• Identify bottlenecks and optimize performance and reliability.
