Job summary

Amazon LEO is building a ground-based optical communication system that enables high-speed data transfer between satellites and ground stations. We seek a Senior Software Development Engineer to own the design and implementation across embedded firmware, networking, and cloud infrastructure, from device control to remote operations and cloud orchestration.

Qualifications

Experience across embedded control systems, networking stacks, and cloud infrastructure.
Ability to design, implement, and own software subsystems for real-time device control and cloud operations.
Experience with infrastructure-as-code for automated deployment and scaling.

Responsibilities

Architect and develop software for ground-based optical communication terminals across embedded, networking, and cloud layers.
Design remote management and monitoring systems for distributed ground terminal deployments.
Develop networking solutions for high-throughput optical data paths and integration with network infrastructure.
Build cloud-based operations platforms for telemetry, alarming, and performance monitoring.
Define system architecture, interfaces, and protocols for ground terminal software subsystems.
Develop fault-tolerant, highly available systems capable of autonomous operation in remote environments.
Own full lifecycle delivery from requirements through deployment and ongoing operations.
