Job summary

Credit Acceptance is actively seeking a senior software engineer to design, develop, and scale high-load microservices and APIs using Golang. You will lead feature development from requirements through production rollout, working with product managers to ensure scalable solutions and high-quality code.

Expect on-call rotation and opportunities to mentor engineers, while contributing to a culture of engineering excellence and customer-centric outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Golang and solid object-oriented programming skills.
• Practical experience in SDLC including Agile/SCRUM and Waterfall.
• Experience designing, building, and scaling high-load microservices and APIs.
• Proven track record of leading feature development from requirements to production rollout.
• Strong communication and collaboration with product management to translate requirements into scalable solutions.
• Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation and support production systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop software and improve existing code to detect bugs.
• Write unit-tests and validate software against acceptance criteria.
• Lead code reviews and communicate application changes.
• Document code and projects for maintainability and support.
• Participate in the talent selection process and mentor less experienced engineers.
• Guide and review designs and documentation of junior engineers.
• Collaborate across teams to plan and implement features in an Agile environment.
• Provide production support and respond to on-call incidents.
