Job summary

Apple Inc. is seeking a Sr Software Engineer for Employee Experience & Productivity in Sunnyvale, CA. You will design, build, and operate secure Drupal and Symfony applications used by Apple employees worldwide. Own applications end to end—from concept through deployment and day-to-day operations.

You will autonomously run projects with business partners, apply secure coding practices, and deliver accessible front-end interfaces that scale across regions and languages.

Qualifications

• Proven ownership of production applications end to end—from concept to deployment and day-to-day operations.
• Experience with Symfony and Drupal including complex custom module development and Composer dependency management.
• Experience applying secure coding practices across the stack.
• Experience designing and consuming RESTful web services and APIs (e.g., JSON:API, REST).
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate secure Drupal and Symfony applications used by Apple employees worldwide.
• Own applications end to end — from concept and architecture through deployment and day-to-day operations.
• Run projects autonomously: partner with business groups to translate requirements into scalable enterprise software, manage priorities, and incorporate customer feedback.
• Apply secure coding practices, including input validation and access control, across the stack.
• Build user-friendly, accessible front-end interfaces that meet modern accessibility standards.
• Build systems that scale across multiple regions and languages and handle peak load for a global user base.
• Optimize application and database performance, including debugging and tuning SQL queries.
• Integrate applications with authentication and third-party services, and incorporate AI tooling into the development lifecycle.
• Contribute to a culture of quality and reliability through code review, sound engineering standards, and continuous improvement.
