Job summary

Amazon Web Services, Inc. in Seattle, WA seeks experienced, passionate full-stack software development engineers for the AWS Global Accelerator service. You will create features for a globally distributed network, engage with customers, and help define the roadmap.

The role requires 5+ years of software development, mentoring, and system design experience, with hands-on coding and design reviews. Your work will improve availability, security, and scalability of the Global Accelerator

Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience.
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Own defining, scoping, designing, developing and shipping features for a highly impactful AWS service.
• Make critical design decisions that impact across various AWS services.
• Learn what it takes to grow and operate a global business at large scale.
• Drive the big ideas to improve availability and performance of AGA Control Plane - Public facing APIs, provisioning workflows and integration with other AWS services.
• Design and architect new systems from scratch or enhance existing infrastructure, owning the technical direction from conception through deployment.
• Define system requirements, evaluate trade-offs, and make critical architectural decisions that impact CloudFront's global infrastructure.
• Mentor and guide team members in solving complex technical challenges with elegant, scalable solutions. Conduct design reviews, provide technical coaching, and raise the engineering bar across the team.
• Drive strategic initiatives to improve security posture and availability of Global Accelerator's infrastructure. Identify systemic risks, propose innovative solutions, and lead cross-team efforts to implement improvements at scale.
• Participate actively in both hands-on development and rigorous code reviews.
• Write high-quality, maintainable code while ensuring team output meets production standards for performance, security, and reliability.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across Global Accelerator to align product roadmap with business priorities and customer needs.
