Job summary

Liberty Mutual Insurance is seeking a senior software engineer to join the Auto Physical Damage (APD) squad within the Claims Predictive Modeling domain. You will partner with data scientists to operationalize AI models as real-time and batch services that drive automated claims decisions.

The role requires hands-on cloud and microservice experience, collaborating across globally distributed teams while delivering scalable software for production systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of software engineering experience.
• Hands-on Java and Spring Boot for microservices.
• Experience building on AWS (Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions, SQS, DynamoDB, S3, RDS/MySQL; CDK).
• Python for CDK.
• Experience with event-driven/data pipelines (Kafka, Airflow, Snowflake).
• Familiarity with MLOps concepts and model monitoring.
• Observability tools (Datadog, Splunk) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to translate client requirements into technical designs.
• Agile engineering mindset and cross-team collaboration.
• Strong communication skills for non-engineers.

Responsibilities

• Model operationalization: deploy models as production microservices with feature pipelines and integrations.
• Integration engineering: build event-driven and API-based integrations with enterprise claims platforms.
• GenAI enablement: operationalize GenAI use cases in claims with evaluation frameworks.
• Production ownership: monitoring, alerting, and on-call support for live integrations.
• Collaborative partner: work with scrum masters, product owners, and engineers to modernize tech stack.
• End-to-end development: analyze system-level issues and implement solutions.
• Documentation and leadership: document features and drive implementations.
• Proactive improvement: seek performance and quality improvements.
