Bellwether Coffee seeks a Senior Software Engineer to join the Software Engineering team in Berkeley, CA. You will own and ship across backend, device, and UI, from fleet‑management services to on‑device firmware.

You’ll work with Go, TypeScript, Swift, and Kotlin across web, mobile, and hardware, contributing to an AI‑native stack and a connected machines platform powering coffee roasters around the world.

Qualifikationen

• End‑to‑end ownership: shipped and operated production systems yourself, across backend, device, or UI.
• Strong systems fundamentals with Go or TypeScript; capable of handling Swift, Kotlin, embedded C.
• Proficient with agentic tooling (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor) and can explain its impact.
• Care about testing, schema discipline, and not breaking the fleet.
• Clear communication, reasonable scoping, good decisions when requirements are fuzzy.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.

Aufgaben

• You’ll move across the system as the work demands, month by month.
• Build fleet‑management services and APIs in Go, backed by Spanner, via gRPC/protobuf, deployed to GKE with Terraform‑managed GCP.
• Improve the on‑device roaster application (TypeScript backend + frontend + simulator) and the Go firmware control daemon.
• Harden the OTA update pipeline and Raspberry Pi OS image builds for safe field deployment.
• Build the green‑coffee marketplace connecting sourcing and fulfillment as the backend core.
• Ship features across SvelteKit web, Swift (iOS), and Kotlin (Android) apps across customer, maintenance, ops.
• Diagnose production fleet behavior using BigQuery data lake to identify root causes.
