Job summary

Okta Inc. is seeking a Senior ISV Ecosystem Full-stack Software Engineer to help build developer-facing products on the OIN platform for B2B SaaS. You will implement secure, scalable UI and API components that integrate with Identity Providers.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of software development experience.
• Proficient in NodeJS with TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Experience building highly responsive UI with React.
• Understanding of asynchronous programming and its quirks.
• Strong API design and HTTP fundamentals.
• Experience with MySQL/Redis/PostgreSQL databases.
• Experience with AWS/GCP/Azure cloud platforms.
• Knowledge of identity protocols (OAuth/OIDC/SAML) is a bonus.

• Analyze/refine requirements with Product Management and stakeholders, asking clear questions.

About the team:

As part of our vision to *Free Everyone to Safely Connect to any Technology*, the company is investing to help B2B / Enterprise SaaS companies engage with their customers by leveraging the the company Integration Network (OIN) platform.

We are building an express capability that allows Auth0-built SaaS applications in the OIN to integrate with Identity Providers through a ‘federated’ connection in a seamless, and simplest manner. This allows the customers of the company to install these B2B SaaS apps in their tenants using the fewest possible clicks, thus ensuring their satisfaction and retention.

About the Role:

We are looking for a Senior Engineer* *to join an innovative and fast moving full-stack team to build a new set of developer-facing products to achieve this mission. Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Analyze/Refine Requirements with Product Management and other stakeholders by asking the right questions and driving clarity.

• Work with user experience designers and architects to scope and plan engineering efforts and dependencies.

• Develop secure and reusable components to enable other teams to easily implement UIs with rich and consistent look and feel.

• Develop APIs and SDKs that developers love. The target audience for this team’s roadmap is the developers working at the B2B Enterprise SaaS companies.

• Have a high bar for security, test-driven development, design reviews and code reviews while harboring a sense of urgency.

• Define long-term observability and reliability metrics for the systems/features that they own.

Required Skills, Attitude and Knowledge:

• Have 4-6 years of software development experience.

• Proficient in building scalable and performant applications with NodeJS (Typescript, JavaScript)

• Experience building highly responsive UI components using React

• An understanding of asynchronous programming, its quirks and workarounds

• Demonstrable knowledge of HTTP fundamentals with strong API Design skills.

• Have experience working with at least one of the database technologies - MySQL, Redis, or PostgreSQL.

• Experience working with at least one cloud-native system of scale (AWS, GCP, Azure)

• Experience with distributed systems patterns including caching, asynchronous processing etc.

• Track record of delivering work incrementally to get feedback and iterating over solutions.

• Have an infectious enthusiasm and bring the right attitude to the team regarding ownership, accountability, attention to detail, and customer focus.

• Excellent written communication skills, bringing structure to ambiguous concepts, and driving closure on them methodically using first principles.

Bonus:

• Existing knowledge of Identity Protocols such as OAuth, OIDC and SAML

• Existing knowledge of security engineering and application security
